there're simply too many distractions in life, stuffs that stay in your mind, bugging you, spoiling your day...yes, "distractions" i'd call them, for the not-so-obvious fact that humans are born sadistic and pessimistic, prone to surrendering oneself to irrationality.

at the end of the day, perhaps, things turn out to be much better than how you perceived it, all the unnecessary tears and whinings simply made you a laughing stock.

went vienna buffet with my family yesterday ^^ (@united square) awesome food with wide variety: chilli crab, buddha jump over the wall, abalone slice, sharkfin soup (real deal with crab meat, unsure about those fins though), great teppanyaki with chicken and dory fish :) sadly there's a lack of choices with sushi. hot stuffs kept me going, i was oblivious to the cold dishes.

desserts were the best, much better than sakura's i must say, those green tea/chocolate/mango cakes were sufficient to satisfy my sweet tooth ^^

went for blood donation for the first time in my life.

let's not be pretentious here, it was scary, definitely, seeing how people would feel faint and such after donating, not the mention those needles, and having to squeeze the ball while the needle is in your vein >< yea, i was frightened, call me a chicken.

at least i pulled through :)

the prick on my middle finger was not as painless as yx lied to me $%^&*@!@ though it's kinda well now (i'm typing). the needle used was the same type used for collecting blood sample at cmpb, much like a tiny metal straw 0.0 i'm thankful for the anesthesia given prior to the grueling process. much to my surprise the bag was filled within 2 to 3 minutes :) while chatting all the while with daniel x)

not gaining extreme satisfaction (it would be silly to perceive yourself as a hero) just because i donated...1 packet of blood (standard amount) >< nevertheless it provided me with, perhaps (just perhaps), an excuse to not mug so hard tonight :p

pretty much ill intention, ya i know. but i do hope that my blood prove to be of much help saving...let's see, at least a person's life? there would be less grieving for those who loves him/her, hence increasing the summation of total happiness in the world :)

from a pragmatic perspective, blood donation would be a positive externality, considering death as a negative externality since a person who died could no longer contribute to society, cost of cremation/burying, work leaves/ decrease in productivity of family members/loved ones --> overall decline in the efficiency of economy.
